Second Tree

Every tree I’ve cut has fallen exactly where I wanted it. Okay, I sometimes helped by lining it. But this one seemed pretty easy so I didn’t bother putting on a line and… it astounded me by it’s fall. It fell at perpedicular to the hinge cut. I had carefully assessed branch weight and lean which only added to my surprise. Just goes to show, you can’t be too safe when felling.img_2169Because it’s landing place was in the dry but mucky vernal pool, I chained it and hauled it out with the truck.img_2171 img_2174Afterwards came limbing, bucking and splitting. It was all in the living room in a few hours.img_2176-2
