Every tree I’ve cut has fallen exactly where I wanted it. Okay, I sometimes helped by lining it. But this one seemed pretty easy so I didn’t bother putting on a line and… it astounded me by it’s fall. It fell at perpedicular to the hinge cut. I had carefully assessed branch weight and lean which only added to my surprise. Just goes to show, you can’t be too safe when felling.Because it’s landing place was in the dry but mucky vernal pool, I chained it and hauled it out with the truck. Afterwards came limbing, bucking and splitting. It was all in the living room in a few hours.
