Breathtaking Baikal!

baikal-horsemanI think if I could only visit one exotic place in the world, this might be it! Incredible scenery and mercifully few tourists, trash and human blight. Check this out, it’s the best Baikal montage I’ve seen, great music too but the video continues significantly after the music ends.

    1. Once you get used to the idea that you’re standing on water, thick ice feels very safe. This is the biggest ice I’ve been on. It was snow covered at this time, but I’d also been there many times when the ice was clear. One of the best things about thick ice on a lake is the metallic booming and pinging that cracks make. Winter just isn’t winter for me without hearing it.
