Christmas day the boys and I were out in the woods. It was a rather remote spot, a place I could be confident we wouldn’t run into holiday dog walkers. It was silent and beautiful out there. Then suddenly the hollow gronking of a raven let us know we’d been spotted. I fired off a bunch of photos, only scoring this one good shot. But I was pretty happy to get it. A tiny obstruction just in front of the raven’s head makes it look a bit like a vulture, but other than that and a bit of blur, given my crappy little camera, it was a decent, zoomed, action shot.
